Bangle sizing

Will it go over your hand?

A jade bangle has no clasp, so its size is set by the widest part of your hand, not your wrist. It takes about a minute with a strip of paper.

Fit finder

Three steps, one minute.

We'll work out the inner diameter that suits you and remember it. Own a bangle that already fits? Measure straight across its inside. That number beats any formula.

1

Measure your hand

Tuck your thumb in toward your little finger, as if slipping on a bangle. Wrap a strip of paper around the widest part of your hand and mark where it overlaps.

2

How should it sit?

Snug stays put and takes more effort to put on. Loose slides and moves with you.

3

Choose an inside shape

Flat-inside bangles (square-edge and half-round) sit flatter on the wrist and feel about 1 mm roomier than a round one.

Putting one on

The trick is in the thumb.

A well-fitted bangle should take a gentle push over the knuckles.

01 · Soften

A little lotion or soap

Coat the back of your hand, or slip a thin plastic bag over it for an easy glide.

02 · Fold

Tuck the thumb

Bring your thumb toward your little finger so your hand is as narrow as it gets.

03 · Roll

Over the thumb joint

Hold the bangle with your other hand and roll it over the base of the thumb first. Never force it.

04 · Protect

Over something soft

Sit over a bed or a folded towel. Jade is tough, but a tile floor always wins.

Bangle profiles

Same size, different feel.

The cross-section changes how a bangle sits. Every Yax Tun bangle lists its profile next to its inner diameter.

Square-edge

Flat inside and out with crisp edges. Sits flat and feels roomier.

Half-round

Flat inside, domed outside. The classic Guatemalan jadeite bangle.

Full-round

A rounded tube that slides more freely. Choose the larger size if you're between two.

Sizing questions

Still between two sizes?

I'm between sizes. Which do I choose?

Choose the larger size for a full-round bangle and the smaller one for a square-edge or half-round, since flat-inside profiles feel roomier. Or send us a photo of your hand next to a ruler and we'll help.

Can a jade bangle be resized?

No. It's carved from one piece of stone, which is why every bangle lists its exact inner diameter and the fit finder comes first.

What if it gets stuck?

Raise your hand above your heart for a minute, then use lotion or soap and the thumb-tuck method in reverse. Never force it. Message us and we'll walk you through it.

Can I try one on in person?

Yes. Book a private viewing at our Loveland showroom or find us at a show, and we'll size you on the spot.

Do you make custom sizes?

Yes. Tell us your size, color and profile, and our Chiapas workshop can cut one from a block we choose with you.

Message us your measurement and the bangle you like. We'll tell you honestly if it will fit. Or have one made to your size
